1. 프로그램 설명

This one-year Welding Techniques program provides students with the opportunity to learn and practice plate and pipe welding techniques. Students perform welding and metal cutting operations using gas, shielded metal arc welding, metal arc welding, metal inert gas, tungsten inert gas and plasma welding skills.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U
Grade 12 Math C or U

Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant testing for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English and Math. The test(s) will demonstrate proficiency in required admission subjects. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

GRADUATION & PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to graduate from a program, the College requires that a student:

1. achieve a GPA of 2.00 or greater, and
2. successfully complete all courses in the program curriculum.

Some programs may have additional requirements for progression through and/or graduation from the program. Please refer to the program map for any additional program requirements.

ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS

Students will be given the opportunity to challenge the Canadian Welding Bureau All Positions tickets as well as the Technical Standards and Safety Authority 6G Test.

Graduates of the one-year program will be prepared to enter the following occupations: Welder, Welder Fitter Trainee, Apprentice Welder, Apprentice Boilermaker, Apprentice Construction Millwright, Apprentice Ironworker, Apprentice Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Apprentice Pipefitter, Apprentice Fitter, Apprentice Steamfitter, and Apprentice Sheetmetal Worker.

NOTE: Availability of apprenticeships will depend upon the local economy.
